KNON hosts an EP release event for 11-year old Blues prodigy, Jack Barksdale! At a very young age, Jack has already shared the stage with music stars such as Ray Wylie Hubbard, Hayes Carll, and Wade Bowen. The EP, titled “REVIVAL,” features Barksdale playing 6 different instruments on all original songs. The one exception is Barksdale’s take on the old Blues classic “Smokestack Lightnin’.” Saturday, October 13, 2018, at the Historic Sons of Hermann Hall in Dallas. Appearing with Jack will be Guthrie Kennard. Jack will be joined at this show by Dallas Bluesman, Aaron Burton. A free dinner will be provided by Chef Ivan Pugh of Bucky Moonshines.

About Jack:

Jack Barksdale is an 11 year old singer/songwriter from Texas. Inspired by folk, rock and blues legends Jack started performing original music at the age of nine and has already shared the stage with Ray Wylie Hubbard, Walt Wilkins, Wade Bowen and Hayes Carll.  

Since last year, he’s played over 75 shows regionally and wowed audiences with lyrics wise beyond his years. Jack plays guitar, slide guitar, harmonica, mandolin and ukulele, but identifies first and foremost as a songwriter.  

His musical influences include Lead Belly, Howlin' Wolf, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Johnny Cash, The Carter Family, Guy Clark, Townes Van Zandt, Hank Williams, Rodney Crowell, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard.
